You found me!! And, I bet you thought I was going to talk about crewel and counted thread, 18th century style! Well, forget that idea. (I’ll be back on topic shortly.) This week I’m going to Quilt Camp…. in France. I know this is a little off course, especially since I’m not a quilter per se. I just like quilting fabric. I will be the only native English speaker…. the rest of the campers speak French and Spanish. But, not to worry! Most Europeans speak a smattering of English. I speak a droplet of French and can read most things. Besides, the love of needlework goes a long way. And, if that doesn’t work we can always do our best Marcel Marceau imitations.
Although this is called “Quilt Camp”, there will be no tents in sight. We will be staying at a lovely B&B and cavorting around the grounds of our French hostess, Véronique Requenna. Did I mention she had a quilt shop on site and just introduced a new line of fabric? Go to www.borntoquilt.fr to get an idea of the superb setting. Véro is also on Facebook.
So, I’m off to make packing decisions (only one suitcase will fit into the miniature car I’ve rented) and finish sprucing up the new front page on my website. Nothing like deadlines to get you moving.
Until later, Barbara
